Is your facial skin yo-yoing? Sometimes dry, sometimes oily, facial skin balance is difficult to find and, above all, to maintain! Climate, stress, and diet are many factors that influence skin balance.
Know your skin well first and foremost
Facial skin is protected by a film called a hydrolipidic barrier, which helps protect the skin from external aggressions such as pollution and bacteria. This film is mainly composed of amino acids and fats , and by studying its composition, you can determine the pH of your facial skin. By performing a test with strips designed for this purpose, easily found on the internet, you can find out exactly your skin type.
The pH of very healthy skin is around 5.5 , which is slightly acidic. A higher pH will indicate skin that tends to be dry due to its basic pH, while a pH lower than 5.5 will expose fragile and sensitive skin with a tendency to develop imperfections ; the pH is then too acidic.
In the case of dry or sensitive skin, you will therefore need to change your facial care routine in order to rebalance the pH of your skin and restore the hydrolipidic barrier ensuring the good health of your skin.
Step 1: Cleaning
All facial treatments must be applied to perfectly clean skin to ensure their effectiveness and not aggravate the condition of your facial skin.
For combination to oily skin (with an acidic pH), choose gentle cleansers with purifying properties to treat it without damaging it. To do this, opt for our Micellar Cleansing Foam for the softness of its foam and the effectiveness of its micelles, or choose the D'Tox Cleansing Gel, fresh and invigorating for soft and purified skin.
For skin that tends to be dry, opt for even gentler cleansing and comforting textures to avoid further sensitizing the skin. In the morning, stick to a gentle toner such as Toning Lotion.
Step 2: The serum
To address a specific skin problem, serums remain the most effective facial treatment, providing the skin with a perfectly tailored blend of benefits and boosting the effects of subsequent treatments. Hydrating, purifying, radiance-boosting, anti-aging—you're spoiled for choice when it comes to pampering your skin.
Step 3: Hydration
To preserve and maintain your hydrolipidic barrier, moisturizing remains an essential step that should not be neglected, morning and evening. For combination to oily skin, our My Payot range as well as Pâte Grise will provide the right amount of hydration with sensoriality and softness. For dry skin, you will then have to rely on our Source range for a hydrating bath and Nutricia for comforting and nourishing facial care.
In addition, once or twice a week
To go further and adopt an optimal skincare routine, a facial scrub and a face mask will be your best allies.
To purify, start by letting our Rebalancing Purifying Mask take over. It will detoxify your skin without damaging it thanks to its original black texture combining the super-absorbent properties of Japanese oak charcoal and the cleansing and unclogging properties of kaolin, the gentlest of clays. Specially designed for combination to oily skin with imperfections, its formula with Chilean mint and zinc extracts limits excess sebum, smooths skin texture and reduces the size and appearance of small spots.
For dry skin, exfoliate with our Gentle Exfoliating Jelly and treat it to a real hydration bath with our Source face mask. In just a few minutes, this ultra-fresh emulsion balm mask quenches thirsty skin, intensely nourishes even the most dehydrated skin, and provides comfort and softness.
With the right skincare routine, there's no doubt that your skin will regain its balance and look more beautiful day after day ;)
