With a model-like figure, golden hair and a doll-like complexion, Claire gets her beauty from her Swedish roots, but above all from her natural and holistic approach to caring for her body, both inside and out.
Can you explain to us what naturopathy is?
It's a "holistic medicine," where the human being is considered as a whole to maintain their vitality in a natural, respectful, and long-term way. Unlike conventional medicine, this practice is not symptomatic; it seeks first to act on the cause rather than masking the symptoms. This includes a healthy diet, herbal medicine, stress management, and energy practices.
What made you want to become a naturopath?
A quest for “true” well-being. The desire to understand the body and its needs! It must be said that I have been influenced since my childhood, my father was a natural health practitioner (self-hypnosis and stress management), my grandparents were vegetarians and so I grew up in connection with nature and its benefits.
How do you define your relationship with beauty?
A vast subject! I actually talk about it in my book on GLOW which is coming out from Marabout Editions in October this year! I seek beauty, it is important to me, in life we are also “nourished” by beauty.
But I want beauty to be linked to well-being. I like to take care of myself with beauty rituals, and I see them as a way to bring myself kindness every day. This notion of kindness allows you to feel better about yourself. And I've always considered beautiful skin to be the best accessory, so I take care of it.
What is your beauty routine?
In the morning, it's simple: Serum + moisturizer and sunscreen systematically and in the evening, I spend time cleansing my face with a good massage (always double cleansing) and often, I leave a hydrating mask on before applying a more nourishing cream. Regularity is the key to beautiful skin so I try never to cheat (especially not with evening cleansing).
How do you integrate naturopathy into your routine?
I use essential oils as well as drainage practices like dry brushing and self-massage.
What foods should you favor and, on the contrary, what foods should you avoid for beautiful skin?
You need to have an anti-inflammatory diet, so focus on fresh, raw foods like vegetables and fruits. Avoid gluten, dairy, refined sugar, and meat as much as possible, especially if they're not organic! Of course, you also need to be very careful with alcohol and tobacco (the skin's worst enemies).
For my part, I also eat a lot of ginger for its anti-inflammatory properties as well as aromatic herbs which are ultra-rich in micronutrients.
Do you ever feel down? How do you regain your energy?
Yes of course! Sometimes life is intense and we exceed our physiological and biological capacities. I try to go to bed earlier (before midnight sleep is more restorative), I recharge my batteries with “slow” moments with my loved ones, I meditate and I take maca and spirulina to boost me (natural tonics and remineralizing)
What are your best tips for a perfect glow all year round?
Practice self-love! Be kind to myself, avoid self-criticism, and meditate. Finally, find a sport that will make you sweat several times a week. An unbeatable trio for a glow.
What is the beauty secret of Swedish women to always be so beautiful and natural?
Well, maybe putting cinnamon everywhere! It's a good metabolism booster and natural appetite suppressant... No, seriously, we really like wellness practices, we're sensitive to them, so the "eat well and move well" idea is quite widespread. Finally, we know how to appreciate the connection with nature, a very important point for the Swedes.
How did you discover Payot? Do you have any favorite products?
I've known Payot for a long time! When I arrived in France 13 years ago, I tried all the French brands. My favorites are the SPF 50 CC cream, which protects delicate facial skin without leaving a greasy feeling, and the almond scrub, which leaves the skin feeling soft...
