Why do we have granular skin?
Characteristic of seborrheic oily skin, these skin irregularities are linked to an excessive secretion of sebum which will leave an oily film on the skin and dull the complexion. The grainy appearance of the skin is reinforced by blackheads or microcysts which reside inside the dilated pores. This excess sebum can be accentuated by various factors such as stress, tobacco, pollution but also unsuitable cosmetic care and hormonal disorders. However, with patience and effective facial care, grainy skin is not inevitable.
How to treat granular skin?
To remedy this sebaceous hypersecretion and refine the epidermis, we recommend that you cleanse your facial skin by unclogging clogged pores.
How? Your granular skin needs to be meticulously cleansed while providing it with moisture.
To avoid:
- Creams that are too rich prevent the skin from breathing and further clog pores.
- Showers or baths that are too hot increase sebum secretions.
- Products that are too harsh for the skin, based on soap or alcohol, which will reactivate the overproduction of sebum.
How to treat granular skin?
Morning and evening:
Follow by applying a perfecting lotion like Pâte Grise Lotion Biphasée Poudrée Matifiante to eliminate excess sebum, tighten pores and mattify the skin.
Then apply a mattifying serum to absorb excess sebum. The Clear Skin Anti-Imperfection Serum is our favorite product for limiting shine, reducing the appearance and size of pores and visibly refining skin texture.
Finish by applying an anti-blemish cream like the Mattifying Emulsion to limit and control excess sebum, while visibly reducing imperfections and fighting shine while hydrating facial skin.
