Our skin is starting to feel tight, and we don't want to make it worse. Here's a look at best practices and mistakes to avoid this fall.
Have you noticed? With the wind, the cold, and the shorter days, our skin is changing its behavior. Redness, slight pimples, a tired complexion... it's trying to get our attention so we can take care of it. Today, we're taking a look at the essential steps to comfort it and avoid upsetting it.
#1 DON'T
THE BIG (HOT) BATH
What?! With the arrival of winter, some of us only think about one thing: the weekend and the bath that goes with it!
Ladies... bad news: wading in hot water doesn't provide as much comfort to our skin as we'd like. Limescale deposits in the form of crystals on our bodies, and this is exactly the phenomenon we want to avoid to protect our skin, which is sensitized by the cold.
THE SOAPY SLOPES
The combination our skin doesn't like is a hot bath and soap. On the one hand, it's attacked; on the other, it's dried out, and its natural shield, made from oil and water, is unbalanced. So, for showering or cleaning your face, we're giving soap a miss, while we wait for spring.
ERASE AND START AGAIN
In autumn, our skin wants the same thing we do: a break from its daily routine. Avoid stressing it with an abrasive exfoliant that will leave it defenseless against external aggressions. Don't worry! There are gentle, grain-free scrubs available. But during colder weather, sensitive skin should avoid them!
CHANGING ROUTINES
Some people like to spice up their daily lives. Let's just say that skin tends to appreciate routine. Due to its biological clock, skin has its own little habits: waking up, natural protective reflex during the day, improved microcirculation at night... in short, changes aren't really its thing.
So avoid changing your beauty routine every other morning. You risk losing track of it, becoming exhausted, and reacting, but not with the desired effects.
#2 DO
THE SWEET MEETING
To soften our body and mind in the shower, while offering a bit of a change from soap, we have the Relaxing Shower Oil. Have you heard of it? A delicate body treatment with floral notes and a silky texture that cleanses without being harsh.
For the face, we have the Fondant Cleansing Oil reflex. A unique skincare experience, which will remove impurities from the skin without being harsh.
THE NUTRITION POINT
In order for it to form its protective barrier again, the skin needs nutrients.
For the body, we like to apply the Nutri-Relaxing Balm, rich in shea butter, jasmine extracts, and white tea. A truly comforting experience, quite simply! But don't forget to also think about our overexposed hands and sensitive lips.
The hydration break
Our skin's hydrolipidic film is the barrier made of water and sebum that protects the skin's surface. To ensure the strength of this shield, we need to stay hydrated.
Step #1 : A hydrating serum that works deep down to contribute to and maintain the skin's hydration level.
Action #2 : Drink 1.5 liters of water per day… yes, even when it’s cold!
Midday in the sun
To be radiant again, you sometimes have to know how to expose yourself! The sun's rays are essential for our body to regulate its biological clock . So, now that the sun is scarce, don't hesitate to take a bath of natural light during your lunch break or whenever it shows up!
Say goodbye to bad habits and adopt these few reflexes that visibly transform the health of our skin. Winter is coming? We're READY!
