Sensitive skin, oily skin, dry skin, combination skin, dehydrated skin... It's hard to know what's what. What if we took a moment to learn everything there is to know about our skin?

While our skin type (normal, dry, oily, combination) is linked to genetics, its health is more dependent on the care we give it and the external factors to which we expose it. Ladies, before finding our beauty routine, we should take a moment to understand our skin.

Skin types

#1 Normal skin

Easy to recognize: it's perfect! The balance between maintaining hydration and sebum production is perfect. The skin's texture is soft and clear. We look good, and we love it. In short, no imperfections in sight!

#2 Dry skin

The natural secretion of sebum helps nourish, strengthen, and protect the skin. Skin is considered dry when our body does not produce enough of this natural oil. It feels tight and dull. At a higher level of dryness, it itches and may experience slight flaking (loss of part of the outer layer of the epidermis).

#3 Oily skin

Conversely, oily skin is linked to a natural overproduction of sebum. It is identifiable by its shine and enlarged pores visible to the naked eye. Skin tone tends to be uneven, and the presence of blackheads or acne is more likely.

#4 Combination skin

Combination skin combines the last two skin types. It is identified by the famous T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) of the face. This last part can be oily, while the rest of the face (cheeks and outer face) is rather dry.

Skin conditions

#1 Dehydrated skin

No matter your skin type, you can suffer from dehydration. It's harder for your skin to retain water in its cells. Stress, fatigue, pollution, UV rays, and cold weather can all cause this occasional dryness! Don't panic. To counteract the lack of hydration, choose a skincare range enriched with hyaluronic acid to replenish moisture and tone your skin.

#2 Sensitive skin

Sensitive skin is much more reactive than normal to external aggressions. Hormonal imbalances, the passage of time, temperature changes, regular use of soaps that dry out the skin... the causes of sensitive skin can also be multiple. But they are often linked to skin that tends to be dry, which has difficulty creating its protective barrier and defending itself.

For sensitive skin in need of comfort? We're rushing to get skincare products with creamy textures and soothing and nourishing active ingredients.

#3 Mature skin

Ladies, if there is one condition that we cannot escape, it is so-called mature skin.

Yes, all women face the passing of time, the loss of tone, signs of fatigue, or the deepening of their skin's texture. It's the natural phenomenon of slowing down cell renewal. But just because skin aging is a necessary process doesn't mean we can't reduce its effects.

To combat the signs of skin aging, we love treatments packed with plumping and lifting active ingredients to give our face a youthful look.

Now that you know your skin better, all you have to do is take action!
