We are no longer a rookie


Blue light is part of the light spectrum that our eyes can perceive. It is emitted by the sun, and, to a much greater extent, by artificial light sources such as our tablets, phones, or LED bulbs.

Unlike ultraviolet rays, whose effects are felt very quickly on our skin, blue light is not aggressive. But we would not think of staying in the sun for so long as we are in front of a screen.

The problem: overexposure! Spending all day in front of the TV, or at our desks behind our computers, the energy from this light source is potentially harmful to our skin. In 2018, French women spent an average of six hours alone with this artificial light.

The effects of the blue dream


A less radiant complexion

Free radicals, produced by blue light, cause our skin to react. The main consequence: our cells oxidize more quickly. Cell regeneration is slowed. Our skin loses its radiance.

A less rested complexion

Blue light captured by the receptors in our retina disrupts our biorhythms and the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone. When we look at screens, we stay awake longer. Cell renewal is delayed, and our skin recovers less easily.

Not all of these consequences are immediately visible. In the long term, there's no doubt that overexposure to blue light is harmful to our skin. It oxidizes more deeply.
